Dr. Devinne Bennett became a valued member of the Back Mountain team in February of 2013. After completing her undergrad studies at the University of Delaware, she went on to study Veterinary Medicine at Ross University. Dr. Bennett did her Clinical Year of Training at Oklahoma State University. She also completed two externships, one at Oakridge and the other at Stoneridge.
Oakridge Equine Hospital is an equine specialty referral practice for surgery and internal medicine. Stoneridge Animal Hospital is a small animal, exotics and avian general practice, where Dr. Bennett developed her interest in exotic animal and avian medicine and surgery. She is a Category II USDA Certified Veterinarian, who also holds a certificate of Veterinary Dentistry Education from the University of Illinois. Besides her interest in exotics and birds, Dr. Bennett leans towards Clinical Nutrition, Small Animal and Equine Internal Medicine, and Theriogenology.
Her interests outside of work are just as varied. Her passion for working with horses includes Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, and Barrel Racing. She also enjoys hiking with her dogs, jogging, creative writing, cooking and swimming. Her “children” are all “fuzzy” and include 2 cats (Obi-Wan and Pan), 2 Staffordshire Bull Terriers (Caleb and Shayla) and 2 horses (Ariana the Andalusian and Bandit the American Paint Horse.)
