Digital radiography gives us at Back Mountain Veterinary Hospital in Dallas, PA, a non-invasive method to observe potential internal injuries/conditions of your pet to provide a more precise diagnosis. This is a painless process that can usually be performed without sedation.
We use radiographs for the following to detect:
- Bone fractures
- Bladder stones
- Tumors
- Soft tissue problems (those related to the heart, stomach, intestines, reproductive, and urinary systems)
- Foreign objects such as toys or rocks
- Confirmation of pregnancy after 45 days, though ultrasound is recommended to confirm viability
We can easily transfer digital X-rays to other doctors or give to the pet owner on a CD. This procedure is just one of many we offer, for instance, echocardiogram and electrocardiogram.
