Dr. Alyson Baber is happy to be home! Born and raised right here in Luzerne County, Dr. Baber is uniquely able to relate to our clients and understands the deep connection they have with their pets. Her hometown touch is complimented by her expansive knowledge gleaned from her education and previous work experience. She completed her Undergrad studies at Delaware Valley University, then went overseas to Ireland to complete her medical degree at the University College of Dublin, where she earned First Class Honors. After graduation, Dr. Baber completed an internship with Lexington Equine Surgery and Sport Medicine.
She worked exclusively with horses for the first few years but her love of dogs and cats brought her back to companion animal medicine in Montrose, before returning home to Dallas to join our Veterinary Family. Dr. Baber has a keen interest in small animal medicine, with a particular focus on imaging, endocrinology and nutrition. Her studies abroad gave her an appreciation of Eastern Medicine and her goal is to get Acupuncture Certified. Clients and staff alike appreciate the fresh prespective she brings and the depth of compassion she has for all four-legged friends.
Dr. Baber looks forward to the enthusiastic greeting she gets at home from her 3 dogs, Zita, Emilio and Helga. When not spending time with them, she relaxes with hiking and traveling or riding her off the track Thoroughbred, Stewie. If the weather doesn’t permit her to indulge in her outdoor passions, she turns her attention to lifting weights, renovating her 1850’s farm house or scouring local Thrift Stores, Consignment Shops and Antique Dealers for treasures.
